Wherein Natalie and I suck at math

I know this will come as a huge shock to you people... but I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. In the last two years, I've divorced, lived on my own for the first time ever, gained financial freedom, lost my job, got a new one, got robbed, and the entire time I didn't want to move back to Oregon because that would be giving up. Giving up what, I'm not sure, it just didn't feel right. I like Greensboro, I love my friends, and I feel pretty well established here.

I'm not exactly sure what or when it all changed but I woke up one day and just thought "Damn, I miss my family" and that was it. I told Natalie and all of a sudden I have a blog, the first stages of a plan, some random emails from moving companies, and a timeline. I use the term "timeline" loosely because Natalie and I cannot count to 18 to save our lives. She and I have been trying to figure out when my contract is going to end. It's an 18-month contract - should be easy right?

You would be so wrong. First, we started planning for 12/2018, then settled on 11/2018. We were confused, we wrote it down, we to the calendar and counted - AND WE WERE STILL WRONG. Finally, I did what any self-respecting project manager would do and put data in an excel spreadsheet.

There you have it, folks - Moving Day is in September 2018. That is roughly 55 weeks away and I cannot be more excited. Of course, I'm not sure if my contract ends on September 1 or September 30 so Moving Day could be October 1st, but right now, I'm happy with either of those. Driving through the Midwest in the winter was going to be awful and leaving a month or two earlier opens up some options.

Where It All Begins - July 17, 2017

Hey Everyone! Welcome to the blog about some sisters, currently planning an East-West cross country road trip. Right now the fun part is that we haven't shared our plans with anyone - it's just an exciting secret while we find dog-friendly hotels and great places to eat. We'll figure this whole blog-thing out as we go along - but right now I think we'll just sign off with our own names unless y'all have a better plan. And by y'all, I just mean the elder statesman of this trip, since we haven't shared this with anyone. So what's on my mind tonight? Dog-friendly hotels Diners, Drive-in's and Dives Car-care kit Grocery store stops Playlist for a 50+ hour trip Can I put my feet up on the dash? Postcards! I'm off to make a list! xoxo, NatNatBoBat
